Mobile Marketing- An Outline on AMP

Initially, AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) Project was launched to make the mobile web experiences better and faster for each and every searcher.  

A new concept known as AMP WordPress has been introduced to enhance the web page speed much faster. It helps in improving the page speed for mobile phones. It has been done by a mixed collaboration of Google and WordPress. Not only, it helps to enhance the speed but also it helps to increase the webpage ranking.

AMP project has also an objective to support publishers and business models while giving rise to new monetization opportunities. Considering advertising, it presents flexibility to publishers to use the current systems and technology they’re used to and developing mobile web initiatives such as AMP for Ads.

  1. AMP HTML- This is markup language having few properties and custom tags with restrictions. However, if anyone is familiar with fundamental HTML, you won’t face the issue adapting prevailing pages to AMP HTML.
  2. AMP JS- Mostly, a JavaScript framework manages resources and asynchronous loading. You need to remember that AMP doesn’t allow any third-party JavaScript.
  3.  AMP CDN- An alternative Content Delivery Network, it considers your AMP-activated pages, cache them inevitably make performance optimizations.

Introducing AMP for Ads

AMP offers a way to solve all the technical issues, presenting you with a more technically thriving advertising environment on the web.

“A goal of the Accelerated Mobile Pages Project is to ensure effective Ad monetization on the mobile web while embracing a user-centric approach. With that context, the objective is to provide support for a comprehensive range of ad formats, ad networks and technologies in Accelerated Mobile Pages.”

Constricted Subset of AMP

Accelerated Mobile Pages comes with a validator, that makes sure the compliance of AMP documents with some rules. The concept involves here is if it follows the rule then the document will load faster. The rules are made based on the kinds of documents and use case. AMP exposes those ads creative which are having use cases. One important drawback is it the ads will not be permitted to load iframes if it’s having any arbitrary JavaScript as said earlier.

Introducing AMP for WordPress

AMP for WordPress is a plugin which offers mobile-optimized content and enhances the web pages speed automatically. It is done by installing AMP plugin on your WordPress website. So, AMP only allows the essential content to be shown through Google AMP Cache.

As the idea of the AMP project is to enhance the web pages speed on mobile devices due to which Google comprise with some extra features on mobile to enhance the page loading performance. Maybe, users are not happy because AMP activation plays an important role in ranking, due to which if you don’t enable this option, the traffic to your web page might get reduced.
